Dissecting Evil...

There are several points to ponder brought about by the recent senseless and tragic school shooting in Connecticut.
The first and most obvious is the loss of 26 lives, particularly the 20 innocent, helpless children that depend on responsible adults every day to keep them safe. My family and I will continue to pray for them and their families. How terribly heartbreaking it must be to go into the holiday season having lost loved ones so recently.

The second point is emotion, anger and fear. Everyone talks about how evil and terrible the kid is that did the shooting but I haven't heard any talk of prayer for him. Sane, normal people do not shoot innocent school children. The young man obviously had something terribly wrong going on in his head to perpetrate such a terrible deed. None of us can possibly know what he must have been feeling to make him do the things that he did. He had his whole life ahead of him too. There will be those that will grieve for him and miss him this Christmas as well.
Would I have killed him had I been there? Absolutely. Without a moment's hesitation. That doesn't mean that I have to hate him to do it. It simply means that I cannot allow the killing of innocents. The moment that this young man's mind snapped, the moment that Satan took control of his actions, he became the Beast. He became the evil that some pretend doesn't exist and should have been stopped by someone that knows that it does. Unfortunately, there was no one present that had the willingness to confront the Beast and he murdered until he felt the need to kill himself.

Which brings us to the third point....

People need to try to come to grips with the fact that we live in an increasingly violent world. Not by our choice but by God's. I believe that it is simply a part of the Greater Plan.
Violence thrives on fear and weakness. Violence MUST be met with violence if we are to survive! As distasteful as this may seem to some, it is a cold, hard fact of the society that we live in today. Therefore, we MUST be armed, prepared and willing at all times to confront the Beast when he knocks on our door. By this, I mean that all good and decent people MUST be armed at all times! ALL TIMES! We do not have the luxury of being able to choose the time when an attack will befall us or our loved ones.  It is imperative that we not only train and carry a weapon with us every waking moment of our adult lives, we must also work on developing the mindset that will allow us to perform an act that goes against everything that good and decent people have been taught from childhood -- we must face the reality of being forced to injure or kill another human being. We need to understand that it is justifiable, both by man's law and by God's law, to perform this act in defense of ourselves or others.

Sadly, the Beast will not die when his vehicle expires. No, the Beast will find another carrier to continue his evil work. That is why we MUST be armed and prepared to meet the Beast at all times. The other choice is to submit to him. These are our 2 choices. We will consciously make one or unconsciously make the other. We absolutely must, MUST be prepared to meet the Beast while we are eating dinner, at the movies, at work, even while we sleep! The Beast will not rest and so must we not rest in our vigilance against it

When we accept these principles of survival, we can more comfortably and confidently go about our daily lives. It is the world that we live in, like it or not. Making the sheep understand this ancient and everlasting principle of life is another issue.
This principle became carved in stone the day that Cain murdered Abel and it holds true today.

Lastly, the bleeding heart libs are going to use this tragedy to push a ton of hell down on us in the form of the most draconian gun legislation this country has ever seen. This will be another battle, a battle for freedom, that we must be prepared to fight with every fiber of our moral being. Our rights WILL be taken away from us if we do not put everything we have into the upcoming battle! What about those children's rights you ask? Yeah, what about them? What if just one sheepdog could have been there to confront the wolf? Oh, I forgot. Generally speaking, it is illegal for responsible adults to bring the necessary tools to protect our children to schools in most states.

Too bad criminals don't follow the rules.

10 Rules for Dating My Daughter

After I read this on the show a few days ago, many of you have asked that I put I put it up so you could use it. Sorry it's late but here it is...

Rule One:
If you pull into my driveway and honk, you'd better be delivering a package -- because you're sure not picking anything up.
Rule Two:
You do not touch my daughter in front of me. You may glance at her so long as you do not peer at anything below her neck. If you cannot keep your eyes or hands off my daughter's body, I will remove them.

Rule Three:
I am aware that it is considered fashionable for boys your age to wear their trousers so loose that they appear to be falling off their hips. Please don't take this as an insult, but you and all of your friends are complete idiots. Still, I want to be fair and open-minded about this issue, so I propose this compromise: You may come to the door with your underwear showing and your pants ten sizes too big, and I will not object. However, in order to ensure that your clothes do not, in fact, come off during the course of your date with my daughter, I will take my electric nail gun and fasten your trousers securely in place.

Rule Four:
I'm sure you've been told that in today's world, having sex without using a "barrier method" of some kind can kill you. Let me elaborate: when it comes to sex with my daughter, I am the barrier and I am the one who will do the killing.

Rule Five:
It is generally understood that in order for us to get to know each other, we should talk about sports, politics, and other issues of the day. Please do not do this. The only information I require from you is an indication of when you expect to have my daughter safely back at my house, and the only answer I need from you on this subject is "Early."

Rule Six:
I have no doubt that you are a popular fellow with many opportunities to date other girls. This is fine with me as long as it is okay with my daughter.
Otherwise, once you have gone out with my little girl, you will continue to date no one but her until she is finished with you. If you make her cry, I will make you cry.

Rule Seven:
As you stand in my front hallway waiting for my daughter to appear, even if more than an hour goes by, do not sigh and fidget. If you want to be on time for the movie, you should not be dating. My daughter is putting on her makeup, a process than can take longer than painting the Golden Gate Bridge. Instead of just standing there, why don't you do something useful like changing the oil in my car?

Rule Eight:
The following locations are not appropriate for a date with my daughter: Places where there are beds, sofas, or anything softer than a wooden stool. Places where there is darkness. Places where there is dancing, holding hands, or happiness. Places where the ambient temperature is warm enough to induce my daughter to wear shorts, tank tops, midriff t-shirts or anything other than overalls, a sweater, and a goose down parka zipped up to her throat. Movies with strong romantic or sexual themes are to be avoided; movies which feature chainsaws are okay. Hockey games are okay. Old folks' homes are better.

Rule Nine:
Do not lie to me. I may appear to be a potbellied, balding, middle-aged, dimwitted has-been. But on issues relating to my daughter, I am the all-knowing, merciless God of your universe. If I ask you where you are going and with whom, you have one chance to tell me the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I have a shotgun, a shovel, and five acres behind the house. Do not trifle with me.

Rule Ten:
Be afraid. Be very afraid. The voices in my head frequently tell me to clean the guns as I wait for you to bring my daughter home. As soon as you pull into the driveway you should exit the car with both hands in plain sight. Speak the perimeter password, announce in a clear voice that you have brought my daughter home safely and early, then return to your car. There is no need for you to come inside. The camouflaged face at the window is mine.

Letter to employer

I have been asked to post a letter here that I wrote for a long-time Shooting Bench listener back in 2008. He and some co-workers were at odds with their employer over having guns at the workplace. For fear of retaliation, they did not want to approach their employer so I was asked if I could write something up for them and send it to the employer. Of course, I jumped at the chance and here is what I came up with. Feel free to use it if you wish with proper credit given...

Greetings,

A number of your employees and customers have contacted us with concerns about your prohibitive firearms policy and their personal security. In view of the numerous attacks on unarmed employees and students across the country in recent months, they have come to realize that when seconds count, law enforcement is only minutes away. With this in mind, those that have the desire to protect themselves and their loved ones find themselves at odds with company policy.

Placing a "NO FIREARMS" sign on your door or having a known policy that prohibits firearms lets the criminal know that he can work in a relatively safe, hazard-free environment without fear of confrontation. Many of the establishments that have been recently attacked have had such signs and policies. Do you think the criminal will change his mind and leave when he sees such a sign? Hardly. It just emboldens him.

We understand the liability concerns of having firearms on your property and in your building. However, we are not sure that you understand the liability concerns that you should have for yourselves and your company should the unthinkable happen and one or more of your employees, customers or their families are injured or killed due to their inability to protect themselves because of your policy.

In lieu of allowing these individuals to legally carry a firearm for self-protection, they have asked that you provide full-time, armed security, adequate for each employee, during all work hours. If this is not acceptable to you, please know that legal and civil action may be taken against your company and each of you personally if an incident unfolds in which these individuals are not properly protected or allowed to protect themselves.

Across the nation, it has been proven over and over again that legally licensed, trained individuals carrying concealed weapons have NOT propagated incidents in which "blood ran in the streets" as was predicted by so many. In fact, quite the opposite has been the case. Nationwide, only a minute fraction of CCW holders have even been involved in a violent crime of any description. Many have been able to prevent or stop crimes with little or no injuries or loss of life. CCW holders have been involved in incidents where they were able to lend assistance to law enforcement professionals with favorable results.

With all of this in mind, the aforementioned concerned individuals respectfully ask that you reconsider your policy and put something in place that would be acceptable to both parties. A possible compromise might be that if someone wishes to carry at work, they should provide proper training and licensing credentials and severe disciplinary action be taken if they are observed handling their weapons in any manner on company property unless it is in defense of themselves or others.

Sincerely,
Cope Reynolds

Tyranny in TinyTown, USA!

The most unbelievable developments in a case of blatant governmental tyranny in a small town in the Arizona desert are unfolding as I type this. Many of you remember the rally we had last August in Quartzsite, AZ. Well, we initially thought we did some good but now we're thinking maybe not. It FAR beyond what it was then.

Sound like a tall-tale or sick joke? It's not. It's real and it has already happened and CONTINUES to happen!

Would U.S. Marines fire on civilians?

Hopefully, we'll never have to find out but if you have received the e-mail that I have included below, you may be a little worried. Pay particular attention to question #46. The very official looking message has conspiracy theorists and anti-gov't loony-tunes frothing at the mouth and working overtime at the keyboard. If you receive a message with this survey in it, no matter how credible the source, ignore it and do NOT forward it. It is NOT true!!
More correctly, the story that goes with it is not true. Oh, the survey does exist but it was NOT administered by the Pentagon. Is was a school paper, an academic project of a Naval Lieutenant Commander by the name of Ernest Cunningham.
Again, if you receive an e-mail with this survey in it, DO NOT FORWARD IT! It is NOT better to be safe than sorry when you disseminate false and misleading information!

Your dad fought in WWII? Oh really?!

Obama's father served in WW II, really?
How can we not believe some of the charges about citizenship, religion, etc., after hearing what he says on this? Obama said his father served in WW II? Barack's father served in WW II?He said so in a speech. Here is an 18 second video: CNN News clip:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fv4jnlkxOaw
Is he a compulsive liar? Were there no reporters who checked or double checked these statements and called the party on this? They did for everyone else. Why not him? Like it or not, here are the facts:

Barack Hussein Obama Sr. (Obama's father) Born: 4/4/36 Died: 11/24/82 at the age of 46. He was 5 years old when WW II started, and less than 9 1/2 yrs old when it ended. Lolo Soetoro (Obama's step father) Born: January 2,1935 Died: 3/2/87 at the age of 52. He was 6 years old when WW II started, and 10 years old when it ended. He must have been the youngest Veteran in the war. Watch the video. RIGHT OUT OF HIS MOUTH!!! And the media doesn't say anything. If you doubt it, Google both of these guys.

It appears this guy doesn't know how to tell the truth -- or he doesn't care about telling the truth! -- or perhaps he doesn't know when he isn't telling the truth (which is also a very scary angle). Talk about STOLEN HONOR!!! Had this been Bush, the Media would still be on this!

The CNN clip of Obama is surprising. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that this lie wasn’t uncovered, questioned or debated before the Nov. 2008 election. Oh well, He must have just "forgotten" the facts, again. Or perhaps he really doesn't even know the difference between truth and fabrication?

Why must we have training to exercise Constitutional rights?

Here in Arizona, we have what is wrongly described as "constitutional carry", meaning that we can in most places without having to get a carry permit. As many of you know, the only way that I would consider it "constitutional" is if there were no restrictions other than maybe restricting convicted felons. Arizona's relatively new law is big hit with those that vehemently oppose having to get training to get a carry permit although one must still provide proof of training, albeit very minimal, to get a permit in AZ. (The ability for AZ residents to still obtain an AZ carry permit only benefits those that wish to enter establishments that sell alcoholic beverages by the drink and those that wish to travel to other states that have reciprocity with AZ). Those of us that work with untrained people on a daily basis understand why the states mandate it even if we don't completely agree with it.

An unintended consequence of Arizona lowering it's training standards from the original 16 hours to 8 hours and then to a minimal, token safety class is that many states may eventually realize that and drop their reciprocity agreements. NM is considering dropping AZ it as I type this.

It is true that training is not required by the constitution but neither is taking drivers ed or getting a drivers license which very few will dispute. Is not driving and the right travel to work and to visit and help sick friends and relatives or whatever truly a part of pursuing life, liberty and happiness as enumerated by the constitution? Is not building a house or becoming an electrician a part of said pursuit? Yet we must, and do, get training, permits and inspections to exercise these pursuits.

I truly believe that we should not have to get permits and training for these things but we do and it is a fact of the life that we have allowed to be imposed upon us due to our apathy and reluctance to disturb our own comfort. If we had never allowed so much regulation and restriction in our lives, society would be more able and willing to take care of themselves today. If our society hadn't been convinced many years ago that guns NEEDED to be regulated and accepted that regulation because they were somehow inherently dangerous, society over-all wouldn't be as ignorant in gun matters as they are today. Kids that grew up on a ranch in Wyoming or a farm in Nebraska or a small logging town in New Mexico really don't need the training as bad as 95% of the rest of the nation. There was a time when those numbers were reversed but that was long ago and the majority of people nowadays NEED, desperately NEED training in many things so that are not a danger to themselves and to the rest of society.
Below is an example of inadequate training or not exercising that knowledge. The result is the same in either case.

After saying all that, I still don't believe that training should be legislated but, unfortunately, neither can we legislate common-sense and it seems that many of us, whether through ignorance, apathy or ego, cannot or will not seek training.

We should be able to start conducting classes locally in the next 3-4 weeks. LOTS of folks looking forward to that.
The Shooting Bench has recently moved to a new time slot. I am now on from 4 to 6pm Mountain time. The all firearms-related, PM Edition of the show will remain the same from 9 to 11pm Mountain on Thursday nights.

Closing business and moving to AZ!

Yes, we closed it up...
But we have moved to Pinetop, AZ and are in the process of trying get opened back up as an Arizona company under an old name, Southwest Shooting Authority. It will take time to get back on our feet after the move but we're hoping to come out of it soon!
Why did we come here to AZ? Well, wanting to stay close to Luna but needing a larger population to cater to, we quite simply decided to follow the freedom and take advantage of a few benefits of this state. Good CCW laws and a strong militia.

Now then, we are having the sale of all sales on Survival Tabs until the 4th of Feb. You don't have much time but if you hurry, you can get in the cheapest Survival Tabs anywhere! This will be the only time that we will ever offer this so don't wait. $20 a bottle plus shipping!! Normally $32.50, this is one hell of a deal. Survival Tabs have a 10 year shelf life and the average person only needs 12 tablets a day to provide all the nutrition necessary to get by. 180 tablets in a bottle provides the average person with 15 days worth of food for only 20 bucks!! Call before Saturday, 4 January! The new number is 928-367-2547. Th toll-free number will be back up in a couple days

02 January 2012

Lots of new stuff this year!

There's going to be a few changes at SWSA and The Shooting Bench, beginning this month!

  • We are going to be putting more guns online AND lowering prices!
  • We're going to spend more time on the road with classes. If you would like to set something up in your area, give us a call and we'll see what we can do. Classes will include handgun, rifle, shotgun and Disaster Preparedness classes!
  • We are now dealers for Sun Oven, Survival Tabs, Thrive freeze-dried foods and a number of other preparedness/survival-related items. Much more of that stuff will be appearing on our online store very soon!

Now then, some news for "The Shooting Bench" as well!
  • GREAT NEWS! We seem to have resolved our sound issues on The Shooting Bench and will have more guests on live with us starting TODAY!
  • Mike Vanderboegh will be on with me LIVE today! Mike and David Codrea were the ones to first break the story of Fast and Furious, the failed DOJ program that quickly became the biggest scandal in ATF history!
  • My wife Amy (from Living Way Out Here) and I will combine our shows on Monday, 9 January to talk about disaster prep skills and products.
  • THE PODCAST WILL BE DROPPED BEFORE THE END OF JANUARY! We get lots of requests to update the podcast and keep it available but no one seems to want to help support it. There are donation buttons on the our main website but donations are almost non-existent. I don't plan to carry this by my self anymore. If that changes by the 3rd week in January, fine but I can't do it alone anymore. There are archives available of all shows since JMR started.
Please join us for lots of other changes and news throughout the coming year.
I hope all of you had a great Christmas and have a happy, productive and prosperous New Year!!
